The Forbidden City is the largest Imperial Palace worldwide. We'll spend at least 2 hours to roam around this impressive example of Imperial architecture and find out about the palace's history.

The Forbidden City, likewise referred to as the Royal residence Museum and Gu Gong in Chinese, exists in Beijing's town hall. It functioned as the royal palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). It was first built for 14 years throughout the regime of Emperor Chengzu in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Old Chinese Astronomers believed that the Purple Celebrity (Polaris) remained in heaven's center, and the Heavenly Emperor lived in the Purple Palace. The Royal residence for the emperor in the world was so called the Purple City. It was prohibited to get in without the unique authorization of the emperor. Thus its name "The Purple Forbidden City," typically "The Forbidden City.

Houhai is the largest of the three lakes "Shichahai" located in the center of Beijing, connecting Qianhai and Xihai. Houhai is a leisurely place with water and mountains and weeping willows. The dwellings and residents on the shore and the surrounding palaces and celebrities' former residences add to it the infinite charm of Beijing and history. The Hutongs in Houhai and its surrounding areas are world-famous for their nightlife, and many residences along the lakeshore have also been converted into restaurants, bars and cafes.
