Welcome to Paris. Enjoy a welcome dinner and then depart from Paris with the beautiful city as your backdrop.
This morning we arrive in the charming medieval town of Conflans, with its unique barge house docked near the quaint main square.
Discover the charm of Auvers-sur-Oise, the last town in France that Vincent Van Gogh called home and the place where he is buried. An option tour is to step inside the magnificent Chantilly Castle and take a guided tour of this extraordinary castle set in a beautiful park.
Enjoy a walking tour of Rouen, the capital of the Normandy region. Admire the famous ruins of Joan of Arc and the historic Rouen Cathedral. Stroll along winding medieval paths and admire the city’s half-timbered houses. Or, join a guided bicycle tour along the Seine to the beautiful 19th century botanical garden, where there are many exotic and rare plants.
This afternoon, we set off for the picturesque coastal village of Honfleur.
Visit the historic Normandy beach, the site of the D-Day landing in June 1944. Here, you have three equally attractive options to choose from. You can visit the Bayeux War Cemetery, the Battle of Normandy Museum, and the Arromanches Landing Museum, explore the involvement of the British army, and finally visit the Normandy Memorial of the British Army, or learn about the Utah beaches and memorials before visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Visitor Center America’s contribution to the battle, or watch the battle through the eyes of the Canadian army, visit the Juno Beach Center, a museum dedicated to the Canadian War, and the Beni Riverside Canadian Cemetery and Pegasus Bridge and Museum. In addition, you can also take this opportunity to explore Honfleur, where there are antique buildings, relaxing coastal atmosphere and colorful fishing boats swaying up and down on the water.
Visit Fecamp and its powerful palace. The city is located in a spectacular environment, and its natural environment is in perfect contrast with the architectural center, the Benedictine palace. Or, traverse the picturesque landscape that used to be dotted with more than 100 monasteries, visit some incredible monasteries still in operation along the way, or learn about the Roman history of the town of Lillebon. Interestingly, it is said that William the Conqueror was in his castle in Lillebon when he decided to invade Britain in 1066.
Back on board, your cruise director will arrange a special reception for you to taste locally produced apple brandy Calvados.
Vernon is one of the most famous sights on the Seine-Giverny, the hometown of the master impressionist Claude Monet. The Japanese-themed garden has tall bamboos and a stream that flows into the Seine. Its center point is a lake with a charming green bridge and a large number of water lilies he painted time and time again. Stroll through the gardens (the clever planting makes them fascinating at any time of the year) and pastel painted cottages. Take the free bus to the garden-or do it yourself on an electric bike.
Enrich: La Roche-Juyón was built on a steep rock face, overlooking the mighty Seine River and the small village of the same name. It is a landscape worth seeing. The history of the castle can be traced back to the Middle Ages. When you enjoy the live classical concert, you will experience the luxury and grandeur of the past.
When visiting a local food market in Paris, you can go shopping with the chefs and enjoy exquisite tasting, or under the leadership of resident experts, stroll through the fashionable Marais district and listen to stories that only locals know. In addition, you can also explore outside Paris and visit the 17th-century castle of Vau-le-Vicomte, which was Louis XIV’s inspiration for the Palace of Versailles. Every attraction here is impressive, and this afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore Paris freely.
This morning, your trip ends after breakfast. You will disembark and head to Paris Airport. Before you leave, please remember to pack up all these good memories.
