This venue is the first ski jumping venue in China, and the main building is inspired by the traditional Chinese ornament "Ruyi", so it is imaginatively called "Snow Ruyi". The building is the competition venue for the ski jumping event of the 2022 Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Games, and is also the largest and most technically difficult competition venue in the Zhangjiakou host area of the 2022 Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Games.
The National Ski Jumping Center is designed with two tracks, consisting of a big jump track with a drop of 136.2 meters and a standard jump track with a drop of 114.7 meters (the grandstand area at the bottom of the hill is also a highlight of "Snow Ruyi", with an area equivalent to a standard soccer field.
